An ANI-L subscriber can use a WWW browser to do all/part of his/her operations with the list. Once suscribed to the ANI-L list and registered with the listserv Server at Syracuse University, a user can Log into his/her ANI-L WWW interface account at the listserv server to do these:
The WWW interface of the listserv Server at Syracuse University is located at: http://listserv.syr.edu Registering with the listserv serverBefore using the WWW listerv intrface to ANI-L you have to regiter with the listserv server. When registering with the server in order to use the ANI-L WWW interface, use the same email address you use for ANI-L.Registering with the listserv server begins at: http://listserv.syr.edu/scripts/wa.exe?GETPW1 Enter the email address you use for ANI-L and a password (this password will be used by you to connect to the listserv server. It does not have to be the same as the password you use to connect to your email server). Then confirm the password by entering it again, and click on the "Register Password" button. You should get the following screen: You should get an email message from Syracuse University LISTSERV Server with the subject "Command confirmation request" (with a system number). Follow the instructions in that message to confirm the registration. Logging into the listserv serverAfter completing the registration, you can log in to the listserv WWW interface.Pay close attantion to the on-site description of the differences between logging in with a cookie and logging in without a cookie. You can login using http://listserv.syr.edu/scripts/wa.exe?LOGON WHEN ACCESSING THE ANI-L WWW INTERFACE FROM A PUBLIC COMPUTER (I.E. NOT A COMPUTER THAT YOU ARE THE ONLY ONE WHO HAS ACCESS TO), PLEASE DO NOT FORGET TO LOGOUT AND CLOSE THE WWW BROWSER BEFORE LEAVING. If you have successfully logged in, you should see your email address at the upper right corner of the listserv server Home page Note: If you are logged into the listserv server with an email address not subscribed to ANI-L you will not have access to any of the following tasks. Viewing (and replying to) previous messagesAfter successfully logging into the server, you can access the ANI-L Home.The main portion of the page is an archive of messages, represented by weeks of issue, one week at a line, starting at the current week and going earlier. Clicking a line of a week will display the headers of all messages issued on that week in ANI-L. Oncr you have located a message you want to view, click it's subject. The browser will show the message with several viewing optiions. One of the options is to reply to the message. Click on it to reply. WHEN REPLAYING KEEP IN MIND THE TOPICS GUIDELINES OF ANI-L. Posting a new messages to the listAt the ANI-L home click on "Post to the list" to edit a new message and post it to the list, using the message editor.WHEN POSTING A NEW MESSAGE KEEP IN MIND THE TOPICS GUIDELINES OF ANI-L. Searching the archivesIn order to search a message in the archive, you can go to the ANI-L home and click on "Search the archives" to enter the search form.After submiting the search, the resoults are listed in a table, one message at a row. Beneath the table, you can find a summary of the results with the search string in boldface. Changing listserv optionsTo change the subscription settings of how ANI-L is delivered to you, You can visit the Join or Leave the ANI-L List page.For a description of each option' either click on the option set name or visit the Information About Listserv Commands page. Note: If you don't click on the "Update Options" button after changing the options, the changes will not take effect. CLICKING ON THE "LEAVE ANI-L" BUTTON WILL UNSUBSCRIBE YOU FROM THE LIST AND YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO GET NEW MESSAGES, VIEW POSTS OR POSING MESSAGES TO/FROM ANI-L. |
